Holocaust Museum Art Competition
27th September 2016
Last year, whilst studying World War 2, Falcon class visited the National Holocaust Centre in Laxton, Nottinghamshire. The pupils had a fantastic visit which included meeting a survivor of the Holocaust and learning about Leo's story and the Kindertransport.
When they got back to school, the pupils were asked to create a piece of art for homework that reflected the theme - 'Don't Stand By'. The pupils completed this for homework and were entered into an art competition run by the National Holocaust Centre for schools across the UK.
In the summer holiday, Mrs Cross received an email saying that Dordon had won the competition and come runners up in the 9-13 age group. We were delighted with the achievement. The artwork produced clearly reflected the pupils understanding of the topic they had been learning about.
Well done to Lucy and Jia Jia for doing so well in the competition and representing our school brilliantly.
