Launch of Dordon Reading Passports – National Year of Reading 2026
To celebrate the National Year of Reading 2026, we are delighted to launch our new Reading Passports initiative across the school.
Reading Passports are designed to inspire a love of reading, encourage children to explore a wide range of texts and celebrate reading for pleasure. Each child received their own passport on Tuesday after our very own Reading Champions launched the initiative in assembly!
Throughout the year, pupils will be encouraged to read regularly at home and in school, discover new authors and challenge themselves with different types of books. Alongside this, we will be celebrating reading through special events, rewards, and opportunities to share favourite stories.
We look forward to working in partnership with families to make reading a fun, rewarding, and central part of school life during this National Year of Reading.
Let’s make 2026 a year full of stories, imagination and a lifelong love of reading!
