Summer Events

We started the week off with a bang!  Mrs Kennell and the School Council organised the Colour Run as our last event to raise money in order to buy new sports kits for Dordon.  It was a blast!  On a personal note, I always have such fun throwing coloured powder at the children and soaking them with water and likewise they seem to take great delight in returning the favour...I wonder why?

The Colour Run gives us all the chance to let our hair down and have fun together, whilst raising money for a worthy cause.

On Tuesday, we held our annual Sports Day and as always it was a complete success.  We now hold three events during the day so the children have the opportunity to take part in multiple races within their phases.  The children were delighted to see their families in attendance and I know that was reciprocated by the huge smiles I saw on all of your faces.

Whilst the children were competing in an array of races, we also hosted a CAT Art Day in the Studio.  Schools from across our trust worked with Crazy Mary, a very talented artist who we have worked with before, to do some sewing and create something very special which will be shared amongst our schools in September.

Finally, on Wednesday the children met their new class teachers and teaching assistants.  This was an opportunity for both staff and children to build relationships before September.  It gave the children an insight into what life would be like when they returned after the summer and hopefully it also alleviated any worries for them too.
