Safer Internet Day – “All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online”
This week, we marked Safer Internet Day across school. The theme for 2026 is “All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online.”
This is a fantastic focus for our school community, particularly as it links so closely with our one-word school rule: Respect. Online games, social media and digital communication are a huge part of children’s lives, and it is vital that we help them understand how to build positive relationships, show kindness and demonstrate respect in the online world just as they do in school.
Throughout the week, children explored topics such as online behaviour, respectful communication, managing friendships online, AI technology and what to do if something makes them feel uncomfortable.
As part of the week, each class also created a piece of work to contribute to a whole-school display celebrating positive online behaviour and respectful digital relationships.
We look forward to sharing some of the children’s thoughtful work and continuing to promote a culture of respect — both offline and online.
